Description

Best for: Extra grip work. The thick handle makes your hands work harder, and it takes plates or a kettlebell.

The wrist roller is an old-fashioned forearm builder that nothing has really replaced. Hold it out in front of you, wind the strap up, lower it under control, and the forearms get a burn that no amount of curling reproduces. GRYNDWEAR's wrist roller is a forearm roller and wrist strengthener that does that with a thickened non-slip handle that adds grip difficulty on its own.

The handle diameter is deliberately larger than a barbell, so your fingers work harder to hold position while the wrists do the rolling, hitting flexors and extensors in the same set. An adjustable strap connects to plates or a kettlebell, letting you scale the load precisely, and the strap length adjusts so you can run it standing, seated or off a rack. The textured coating keeps your hands from slipping as they fatigue.

Use this forearm trainer at the end of a pulling or arm session, two or three controlled sets, rolling in both directions. Lower the weight under control rather than letting it drop, because the eccentric is where most of the work happens. Start with a light plate; forearm training gets humbling fast, and tendons take longer to adapt than muscles do. Two focused sets at the end of a workout are enough to build noticeable forearm size and grip endurance over a training block.

  • Handle: thickened non-slip textured grip
  • Strap: adjustable length loading strap
  • Loading: takes standard plates or a kettlebell (not included)
  • Use: forearm flexor and extensor strength, grip endurance
  • Positions: standing, seated or rack-based use
  • Care: keep dry and check the strap for wear before loading

Also in the lineup: Wooden Wrist Roller for the classic wooden version; Adjustable Wrist Roller if you don't have plates.

Pairs well with: Rep Counter Hand Gripper for grip work between sessions. Add any 2 items and Buy 2, Save 20% comes off automatically.

Wrist Roller in use at the gym

The Forearm Builder Nothing Replaced

Hold it out in front of you, wind the strap up, then lower it under control. The burn that follows is something no amount of curling reproduces, which is why the wrist roller has never really been replaced.

Two sets at the end of a pulling day is enough to feel it for the next two.

Keep the arms straight out and let the wrists do the work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use it?

Hold it out in front of you at shoulder height, wind the weight up by rolling the handle, then lower it under control. The lowering half is where most of the work happens.

How much weight should I start with?

Less than you think. A small plate is plenty for the first sessions, because forearms fatigue fast under constant tension.

What does it train?

Forearm flexors and extensors together, plus grip endurance, which carries over to deadlifts, rows and carries.

Why is the handle so thick?

A larger diameter makes your fingers work harder to hold position, so grip is trained alongside the rolling movement.

What can I attach to it?

Plates or a kettlebell through the adjustable strap. Set the strap length to suit your height and the space you train in.
