Description

Best for: Double-unders, boxing footwork and fast conditioning. The coated steel cable turns over quicker than a plastic rope.

Double unders, footwork drills and fast conditioning all come down to one thing: a rope that turns over clean. The GRYNDWEAR speed jump rope pairs a coated steel cable with dual ball-bearing heads, so the rope stays on its arc instead of dragging or twisting at the top of every rep.

The cable is 3 m (about 10 ft) and adjusts down to your height in a minute, then locks in place. Textured silicone grips stay secure when your hands are sweaty, and the slim handles keep the turn in your wrists where it belongs. Use it as a warm-up before lifting, as intervals between sets, or as a full cardio session when you only have a small space and ten minutes.

Skipping is high-impact, so start on a mat or timber floor rather than concrete and build volume over weeks. Keep the jumps low, land on the balls of your feet and stop when form drops. The whole rope coils into a pocket, so it goes wherever you train. A steel cable is less forgiving than a plastic one, so expect to miss more reps while you learn it.

  • Cable: PVC-coated steel wire, 3 m, adjustable length
  • Bearings: dual ball bearings with 360Β° rotating head
  • Grip: textured anti-slip silicone
  • Handles: slim, 13.1 cm (5.2 in)
  • Use: double unders, boxing footwork, HIIT, warm-ups and cardio
  • Surface: use on a mat or timber floor to extend cable life

Also in the lineup: Everyday Jump Rope for cardio and learning the basics.

Pairs well with: Adjustable Weighted Vest for harder conditioning rounds. Add any 2 items and Buy 2, Save 20% comes off automatically, or add a 3rd and save 25%.

Speed Jump Rope in use at the gym

Three Rounds, Real Conditioning

Boxers skip for a reason: it builds calf endurance, footwork and timing inside the same three minute round. All it needs is a square metre of floor and enough ceiling to clear the rope, which makes it the easiest conditioning to actually do.

Three rounds of two minutes with a minute of rest is a complete session on its own.

Run it as a warm up before lifting, as intervals between sets, or as the finisher that empties the tank.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set the rope length?

Stand on the middle of the cable and pull the handles up. The ends should reach your armpits. Adjust the cable to that length and it is set for you.

Can I do double unders with it?

Yes. The thin steel cable and ball-bearing heads are made for fast rotation, so it is well suited to double unders once your singles are consistent.

Will it hold up on concrete?

Yes, the cable is built to take contact with hard surfaces. A mat or a timber floor will still extend its life if you have the choice.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes. Set the cable to your height, keep your elbows in and turn the rope from the wrists. The bearings do most of the work for you.

How long is the cable?

The cable is 3 m (about 10 ft), which fits most adults. Shorten it to your height and lock it in place at the handle.
