Description

Nordic curls are one of the hardest hamstring exercises you can do, and one of the most popular with sprinters, footballers and field athletes. The catch has always been the setup: you need something solid to hold your ankles down. This strap turns any flat bench into a Nordic station in under a minute, at home or in the gym.

Loop the 1.5 m strap around the bench, kneel on a pad, slide your ankles under it and pull it tight. The metal quick-release buckle locks the length and lets go with one press when you are done. The webbing is wide enough to sit flat across the ankles, and the same strap anchors your feet for sit-ups and holds a bench steady for other floor work.

Most people can not do a full Nordic on day one, and that is normal. Lower yourself as slowly as you can, catch yourself with your hands and push back up. Over a few weeks the range you control grows. Put a mat or folded towel under your knees and keep the strap snug before every set. Expect to be sore in the back of your legs for a couple of days after the first session, even from only a few reps, so leave plenty of recovery before you do them again.

The Hamstring Lift Sprinters Use

Nordic curls load the hamstrings while they lengthen, the same way they work when you sprint. That is why they show up in so many speed and field programs.

All you need is a bench, this strap and something soft under your knees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit my bench?

The strap is about 1.5 m long and adjustable, so it wraps around most flat weight benches.

I can't do a full Nordic yet. Is it still for me?

Yes. Most people start by lowering slowly, catching themselves with their hands and pushing back up. The range you control grows with practice.

Do I need anything else?

A bench, a rack upright, or anything solid to anchor against. That is it. The strap holds your ankles and the anchor does the rest. Most people also put something padded under the knees for the first few weeks, because the floor is what usually ends the set.

What else can I use it for?

It anchors your feet for sit-ups and holds you to a bench for other floor and core work.

How do I release it?

Press the metal quick-release buckle and the strap lets go.
