Description

A standard bar lets your hands get lazy. Wrap a thick grip around it and every curl, row and pull-up turns into grip and forearm work too, without adding another exercise to your day. These fat grips snap onto barbells, dumbbells, pull-up bars and cable handles in seconds and come off just as fast.

Each grip is a split silicone sleeve about 10 cm long and 5 cm across, with a diamond texture on the outside so it does not spin in your hand. The silicone opens to slide over the bar and closes back around it, so it stays put through the set. Use one pair on two dumbbells or both on a barbell.

Expect to drop the weight a little at first. A thicker handle is harder to hold, which is the point. Start on curls, rows and holds, then work up to pull-ups and presses as your hands catch up. Rinse with water and let them dry. Not for Olympic lifts: a thick grip slows the hand release, which is the last thing you want under a clean or a snatch. One more thing worth knowing is that the first few sessions will feel like a step backwards on the numbers, and that is the point. Your hands are now the limiting factor, and they catch up fast.

Grip Work On Every Lift

A thicker handle makes your hands and forearms work harder on every rep. Put them on for curls, rows and pull-ups and you get grip training without adding time to the session.

Drop the weight a little at first and build back up.

Frequently Asked Questions

How thick are they?

Each grip is about 5 cm across and about 10 cm long once it is on the bar.

Do I get one or two?

You get a pair, two grips, enough for two dumbbells or both hands on a barbell.

Will they fit my bar?

They wrap around the bar rather than sliding onto it, so they fit standard barbells, dumbbell handles and most cable attachments. They are not meant for a thick axle bar, which already has the diameter these are built to create.

Which lifts should I use them on?

Curls, rows, holds, pull-ups and presses work well. Skip them on Olympic lifts like cleans and snatches.

How do I clean them?

Rinse with water and let them air dry.
