Squat Pad - Thick Foam Barbell Pad for Squats & Lunges
Squat Pad

$29.99

Description

Best for: A tight lock in one move. Flip the latch, done, and it won't walk down the sleeve.

Unsecured plates slide, and a sliding plate on a bench press or a squat is how a good session turns into a bad one. GRYNDWEAR's quick release barbell collars — also called barbell clips, barbell clamps or weight clips — clamp onto the sleeve with a spring-loaded snap latch, so a plate change takes a second in each direction and the plates stay exactly where you put them.

The body is moulded from premium nylon rather than thin plastic, which means it survives being dropped on a platform and keeps its spring tension through heavy use. Squeeze, slide, release, and the latch bites down on the bar. There is no thread to cross, nothing to lose and nothing to rust.

Check your bar before you order. These come in 25mm, 28mm and 30mm, which are the sleeve sizes on spinlock bars, standard bars and most smaller home-gym bars. A full Olympic barbell has a 50mm sleeve and none of these sizes will fit one. Measure the sleeve the plates slide onto, not the knurled grip in the middle — that is the measurement that matters, and getting it wrong is the single most common reason a collar arrives and goes straight back.

Sold as singles or pairs depending on the option you choose, and light enough that a spare pair lives permanently in a gym bag. Always collar both sides before you load asymmetrically, and check the latch is fully seated before lifting.

  • Material: premium moulded nylon with spring-loaded snap latch
  • Fits: 25mm, 28mm and 30mm sleeves — not 50mm Olympic bars
  • Operation: one-handed quick release, no threads
  • Options: available as 1 or 2 piece sets
  • Use: spinlock and standard bars, dumbbell handles and EZ bars
  • Weight: lightweight, suits a gym bag

Also in the lineup: Single Barbell Collar if you only need one.

Pairs well with: Squat Pad for squats and hip thrusts. Add any 2 items and Buy 2, Save 20% comes off automatically, or add a 3rd and save 25%.

Barbell Collars in use at the gym

Plates Stay Where You Put Them

Unsecured plates slide, and a sliding plate on a bench press or a squat turns a good session into a bad one. The spring loaded latch bites down on the sleeve and keeps the load square through pressing, pulling and squatting.

Check they are seated before each heavy set and then forget about them.

On a bench without a spotter, that is one less thing that can go wrong.

One Second Each Way

Squeeze, slide, release. A plate change takes about a second in each direction, with no thread to cross, nothing to spin down and nothing to lose under the rack.

On a drop set or a superset, that saved time is the difference between finishing the session and running out of it.

They come off just as fast when the next person wants the bar.

Nylon That Survives The Platform

The body is moulded from premium nylon rather than thin plastic, so it survives being dropped on a platform and keeps its spring tension through heavy use.

Fits are available for 25mm standard bars and for 28mm and 30mm sleeves, so check your bar before choosing.

Most lifters take a pair so both ends of the bar are covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which bar size do I need?

Fits are available for 25mm standard bars and for 28mm and 30mm sleeves. Check your bar and pick the matching option above.

How many collars come in a set?

Choose one or two in the options above. Most lifters want a pair so both ends of the bar are covered.

How do they attach?

Squeeze the latch, slide the collar onto the sleeve and release. The spring closes it onto the bar and holds the plates in place.

Will they hold under heavy load?

The spring loaded latch grips the sleeve through pressing, pulling and squatting. Check they are seated before each heavy set, as you would with any collar.

What are they made of?

Moulded premium nylon with a steel spring, chosen because it handles platform drops better than thin plastic collars.
